LAHORE: City District Nazim Mian Aamer Mehmood has said that the plan for the re-construction of Multan Road from Chauburji to Thokar Niaz Beg (13km) costing Rs 11,468 million has been finalized.
He said this while chairing a meeting with the officials of different departments of the city district government on Tuesday. He said that the double track road would have three lanes on both sides and a drain would also be constructed.
He directed Executive District Officer EDO Works Rana Muhammad Ghaus to build service roads and drains alongside the road in cooperation with the relevant town administrations. He also ordered removal of encroachments in order to implement the project. He directed the works department, TEPA and Wasa to cooperate with each other for constructing a durable road.
He informed the meeting that the government allocated Rs 360 million for the construction of a drain while 377 poles would be installed for street lights and 11 traffic signal costing Rs 50 million would also be installed. In the first phase, Wasa would construct drains and road construction work would follow the street lights installation.
